The jobโ cuts, impacting an unspecifiedโ number of roles, come despite the firm’sโฃ optimism regarding future growth throughโค product launches and e-commerce expansion.
The loss โฃrepresents a โdecline of โฃaround 4 per centโ in โฃfinancial performance. However,โ Bowers & Wilkinsโค directors expressed confidence in the company’s future,โค citing planned product โlaunches,โ e-commerce growth, brand โawareness initiatives, anโ expanded licensing portfolio, and synergy benefits as key driversโ for success in the premium audio andโค high-quality headphone markets. The company also โhighlightedโ continued โฃinvestment in its manufacturing facilities in โขzhuhai, China, and Worthing, UK,โ utilizing โคinnovative โprocesses and robotics.
The restructuring occurs as US health technology firm Masimo finalizes the โข$350 million sale ofโ its audio division – encompassing Bowers & Wilkins and Denon – to Harman, whichโค also owns Harman Kardon, AKG, and JBL.The deal, initially announced in May, is expected to be โขcompleted by the end ofโข September.
Masimoโ CEO Katie Szymanโค stated the sale aligns withโข the company’s strategic refocus onโ clinical needs and operational efficiencies. “Our consumer audio business and its โขtalented team โฃwill be well positioned โขfor growth and success underโฃ Harman’s leadership,” she said.
