luíza Abreu, a participant in a reality show, has shared deeply personal and harrowing experiences, detailing her struggles with anorexia nervosa and a traumatic incident involving her mother’s suicide attempt.Abreu’s narrative highlights a period of significant personal hardship and family distress.
At the age of 19, Abreu described losing her independence and embarking on a journey to Porto. It was during this time that her health began to deteriorate, leading to hair loss and the onset of anorexia nervosa. She recounted periods of not eating or purging after consuming food, a struggle exacerbated by the absence of her mother.
The emotional toll continued as Abreu recalled being ostracized by her family. Upon learning she was to become an aunt, her joy was met with a harsh reality: she was perceived as the “black sheep” and “executioner.” This familial rejection led her to leave home with only a single suitcase, pursuing her dreams while assuring her mother she was not abandoning her.
A pivotal moment in Abreu’s story occurred on her birthday when her mother called, asking her to come and collect her. This event marked the beginning of what Abreu described as a period of lies and led her mother to a state of despair so profound that she attempted to end her life. Abreu recounted finding her mother unresponsive and successfully reviving her. Following this crisis, they returned to Porto.
