Prato, Italy – A vibrant procession of approximately 30,000 people filled the streets of Prato today, June 21, 2025, for Tuscany Pride, a demonstration against discrimination and a party of LGBTQIA+ rights [2]. We wove future,” commenced from piazza del Mercato Nuovo and concluded in Piazza Santa Maria delle Carceri, featuring twelve floats and culminating in a party in Pistoia’s Montuliveto Park with food, shows, and DJ sets, including a performance by Bigmama [1].

Various representatives from Tuscan municipalities participated in the march, followed by floats representing organizations such as Rainbow Families, Mama Mia, Nosatras Onlus, Arcigay Florence, Siena and Livorno, Agedo Livorno, and chimera Arcobaleno. Other participating associations included trekking groups,atheist and rationalist organizations,social worker and psychologist associations,educators,and asexual collectives.

Controversy Surrounding Inclusion

Prior to the event, controversy arose when the Keshet Association, an LGBTQAI+ Jewish group, was asked not to parade with its rainbow flag featuring the Star of David. Ariel Heller, a board member of Keshet Italia and President of Keshet Europe, expressed disappointment, stating that excluding Jewish symbols is a setback for the entire LGBTQIA+ movement. Heller emphasized that these symbols should not be mistaken for national flags and that true liberation must include everyone.
