Breaking News: Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the Thruxton 400, a new cafรฉ racer model poised to expand the British brand’s reach in the rapidly growing mid-capacity motorcycle market. The Thruxton 400, priced at approximately $3300 USD (274,000 Indian Rupees), is currently slated for release outside of India beginning in 2025.
The Thruxton 400 draws heavily from the classic cafรฉ racer aesthetic, featuring design elements like a “stump” headlight,clip-on handlebars,a sculpted fuel tank,a bullet-style seat cowl,handlebar-mounted rear-view mirrors, and a subtly elevated rear tail section. While unmistakably a Triumph, observers have noted a strong influence of Indian motorcycle design sensibilities in its overall execution.

the motorcycle is built around a hybrid tubular steel frame – a spine and perimeter design – paired with a cast aluminum two-sided swingarm. Suspension components include 43mm Big Piston Fork upside-down front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock featuring an external reservoir and preload adjustment.
Compared to its sibling, the Triumph Speed 400, the Thruxton 400 adopts a more aggressive riding position. The clip-on handlebars are 40mm narrower and 246mm lower, while the footpegs are positioned 86mm rearward and 27mm higher, contributing to a sportier feel. This geometry is designed for a more engaged and dynamic riding experience.

Powering the Thruxton 400 is a 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 42 PS (approximately 41.4 horsepower) at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm (27.7 lb-ft) of torque at 7,500 rpm. This represents a slight performance advantage over the Speed 400.
The Thruxton 400 incorporates modern features including Ride-by-Wire throttle control, switchable traction control, a Slipper & Assist Clutch, dual-channel ABS, and a USB-C charging port. Instrumentation consists of a single analog speedometer combined with a multifunctional LCD screen, and all lighting is LED.
Currently, the Thruxton 400 is only available in the Indian market at a price of 274,000 Indian Rupees (approximately $3300 USD or 51.02 million indonesian Rupiah). Triumph has confirmed that international distribution will commence in 2025,with specific launch dates and pricing for other markets to be announced closer to the release date. The Hinckley-based manufacturer anticipates strong demand for the Thruxton 400, especially among riders seeking a stylish and accessible entry point into the cafรฉ racer segment.
