Elderly โคWoman Dies after โHit-and-Run in Fazakerley – Driverโฃ Sought by โขPolice
Liverpool, Decemberโ 6, โฃ2023 – An 81-year-old woman has died after being โคstruck by aโ dark-coloured vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on Longmoor Lane, fazakerley, on Friday, December 5th. Emergency services were called to the scene, near the junctionโข with Third Avenue, at โฃapproximately 4:15pm.
The woman,โค a local resident, had reportedlyโค gone to a nearby โshop when the โcollision occurred. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to Aintree Hospital, were she sadly โdied shortly after arrival.
Policeโค are currently searching for the โคvehicle and its driver, who failed to stop at the scene.โ Officers are reviewing local CCTVโค footage in an attempt to identify โthe car,which is expected to show โsigns of damage.
Superintendent Siobhan Russell appealed to the public โขfor assistance, โฃstating:โ “I would appeal to anyone who โmay have any facts to come forward. The 81-year-old victim had only popped out โtoโข shops and now herโฃ family are โtryingโ toโ come toโข terms โขwith her loss. Specialist officers are providing them with support at thisโ tragic time.”
sheโข continued, urging the driver to “searchโ their conscience and come โคforward,”โ and requested anyone with information to assist in identifying โคthem. “We also wont to find theโข car which may have sustained damage โas a result โฃof โขtheโข collision and may have been parked upโข or even abandoned.”
Several witnesses are assisting police with their โinquiries, and house-to-house searchesโ are underway. Longmoor โฃLane remains cordoned off for forensic examination, and motorists โare advised to avoid the area.
