Toronto‘s 2025 Platformโ lineup has been unveiled, showcasing a diverse โขselection โคof 12 films poised to makeโค waves โin theโ international film circuit. The platform, known for launching critical and commercial successes, will feature projects including “Steve,” starring Cillian Murphy, and “The World of Love.”
The Platform program, a cornerstoneโ of the Toronto International Film Festival โ(TIFF), champions bold, innovative โฃfilmmaking from โaround the globe.โค This year’s selection represents โค10 countries โand includes eight directorial debuts.โค the filmsโ explore โa range of themes and genres, offering aโ glimpseโค intoโค the future of cinema and providing a launchpad for emerging and โestablished โfilmmakers alike. The festival runsโ September 4-14, 2025.
Among the highlighted titles isโ “Steve,” directedโข by Gareth Dunnet-Alpoos andโ featuring Cillian Murphy in the leadโข role. Theโฃ film centers on a darkly โคcomedicโฃ tale of a man attempting to โขreconnectโ with his estranged father. Also featured is “The World of โฃLove,” directed byโ Katiaโฃ Adamik,based on a novella by Nobel Prize-winner Olga Tokarczuk,and starring Lesley Manville as Dr. Joan Andrews, who finds herself caught in the upheaval of 1981 Polandโค during the imposition of martialโ law.

Theโฃ Platform program aims to support filmmakers pushing creative boundaries and to connect them with audiences andโค industry professionals. TIFF’s selection committeeโฃ reviewed over 1,300 submissions toโ arrive at the final 12 films.
