Stockholm, Sweden – Milly Carlsson, 34, a participant in the Swedish edition of Netflix’s “Love is Blind,” has spoken publicly about the challenges she’s faced in dating since appearing on the reality television programme. Carlsson, originally from Jönköping, reports a meaningful shift in the type of attention she receives, moving from casual approaches to recognition-based interactions, frequently enough lacking romantic intent.

Carlsson and Ola Jönsson, 43, formed a connection on the show, but Jönsson ultimately ended the relationship. The program, which premiered on Netflix Sweden on February 14, 2024, follows singles attempting to find love and get engaged without ever seeing each other. The show’s premise involves contestants communicating through “pods” before revealing their physical appearances.

In a recent interview with the Swedish podcast “Updejt,” Carlsson explained that before appearing on television, she regularly attracted interest when socializing. Though, she now finds that potential suitors are primarily motivated by recognizing her from TikTok or the Netflix series, rather than genuine romantic interest. She described receiving numerous approaches for conversation and “pepp talk” but few leading to dates.

Carlsson also noted difficulties on dating apps like Tinder, stating that matches often end abruptly once individuals realize her identity. She speculated that some people may be hesitant to pursue a relationship with someone who has been in the public eye.

Adding context to her current dating struggles, Carlsson told Expressen that the only significant change in her life since last year is her increased public recognition.She also highlighted the impact of living in a smaller town, where she is more easily recognized by locals.

When asked about her future approach to dating,Carlsson expressed a desire to remain open and curious about people she meets in various settings.she did not specify any particular location or event where she intends to actively seek a partner.
