Jesse Eisenberg to โคDonate kidney to Strangerโ Through National โKidney Registry
NEW YORK, NY – October 30, โ2025 – Actor Jesse eisenberg revealed today โขthat he โคis scheduled to โdonate a kidney to a stranger in mid-December throughโข the National Kidney Registry. The “social Network” star discussedโค his decision during โฃan appearance on โฃthe “Today” show, explaining the process and addressing concerns โabout potential future needs within his own family.
Eisenberg stated he first โconsidered kidney donation approximately 10 years ago but recently had the โchance toโ move forward. He underwent testing at a hospital and is now confirmed for the โฃprocedure. He clarified that the donation is facilitated โคthrough a system designed to benefit both the recipient andโ the donor’s family, should โขthe need arise. โฃ
“The way it โขworks now is you can put a list of whoever you would โlike โto be the first to โขbe atโค the top of the list,” Eisenbergโค shared, referencing the National Kidney โRegistry’sโค family voucher program. “So it’s risk-free for my family, as well.”โ He explained that the donationโข goes into โฃa โฃ”bank” where a match can be found,โ but relies on altruistic donors to function.
The actor also addressed questions regarding his decision not to reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming sequel โคto “The Social Network,” titled “The Social Reckoning.” Eisenberg emphasized that his choice was unrelated to the quality โof the film, stating, “It’s aโ really marvelous movieโฆall of the reasons โขthat I am not โคin it are completely unrelated to โhow โbrilliant it will be.”โฃ He โadded that actors naturally “grow into something else” โafter portrayingโ a character.
