Most Lucrative Keeneland Fall Meet Yet Begins Oct. 3

Keeneland Fall Meet ‍Set ⁢too Begin, Offering Record Purses and Special Days

LEXINGTON, KY – KeenelandS 17-day Fall Meet, beginning October 3, is poised to be the most lucrative in the track’s history with average daily purses of⁢ $1.2 million – an increase of​ $200,000 per day from‍ 2023. The meet will run through October 25.

Keeneland will host several themed race days throughout the‍ Fall Meet:

October 10: College Scholarship Day Presented by Lane’s‍ End. Full-time enrolled college students who ‍pre-register can receive free general admission and compete for $30,000 in scholarships. The Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Keeneland will award ten $2,000 scholarships, while Lane’s End Farm will provide two $10,000 scholarships. Activities with ⁣amplify Horse racing, ​Bad Ass Coffee⁣ and LexLive will ⁢take place from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. on the North​ Terrace. Pre-registration is​ available at www.Keeneland.com/csd.

October 19: Heroes⁣ Day. Keeneland will honor⁤ active duty military, veterans, first responders,⁢ health care workers, and their families with free ⁣general admission, reserved Grandstand‌ seating, and a‌ complimentary meal at⁢ the North Terrace provided by ⁣City‍ Barbeque (for the first 2,000 attendees). heroes will also⁣ receive ‍a 30% discount at ‍The Keeneland Shop. A POW-MIA Chair of ⁤Honor ​will be displayed⁤ in partnership with The ‌Rolling Thunder Kentucky Chapter⁤ 5. Each hero is ‍eligible for ⁤up to four complimentary tickets;⁣ details and reservations are available at here.

October 25: Teacher Recognition Day. Teachers, educators, and staff, ‌along with one guest each, will ​receive free ⁤general admission and reserved Grandstand seating. Attendees will be entered into a ⁢giveaway drawing at 4 p.m. Coca-Cola and UPS will host a tent near the Paddock offering giveaways⁢ and‌ complimentary Coca-Cola vouchers. DEL MAR, Calif. – Dirty Rich demonstrated a commanding performance Saturday, winning⁤ the $100,000 ⁢Del Mar Juvenile Turf S. (G3T) in a final time of 1:35.57. The victory positions the colt as a strong contender for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.

Trainer Bob Sadler indicated the Del Mar race was strategically planned as a ​prep for the Breeders’ Cup. “The idea was to get a race⁢ over here to get him ready for the Breeders’ Cup,” Sadler said. Only ‌a late surge from Plutarch threatened to challenge‍ Dirty Rich’s dominance. Though, the son of No nay Never extended⁣ his lead in the final strides, finishing ⁢1 ½ lengths ahead of his closest competitor.

Repole ⁤Stable Secures Leading Owner Title at Saratoga Race Course

SARATOGA​ SPRINGS, ⁢NY – Repole Stable ‌clinched the leading owner title at the recently concluded Saratoga Race ⁤Course meet, marking‍ their fourth win at the prestigious venue ⁣and first ⁤since 2012. The ‍stable‌ amassed 14 victories throughout the meet, surpassing Klaravich Stables (11⁤ wins) and ‍Flying P Stable (9 wins).

This victory marks Repole Stable’s first owners’ title at a New York Racing Association ‌(NYRA) meeting since a tie ⁤with michael Dubb at the 2021 Aqueduct winter meet.‍ Prior to that, Repole Stable dominated Saratoga‌ from 2010-2012 and led ‍all New York owners in 2009.

Key wins‍ for Repole stable included a sweep⁢ of 2-year-old turf stakes‍ routes during closing week – the Grade 3 With Anticipation and Listed P.G. Johnson. Standout performers also included debut-winner Teleport, co-owned with Newtown⁢ Anner Stud Farm, and New York-bred Grazie, who graduated on July 31 and⁤ later ⁢finished third in the state-bred Seeking the Ante on August 22.

“Winning at ⁢Saratoga is always special, but winning 14 races and ‌having Mike ​win leading owner for the⁢ fourth time at‍ such a prestigious meet is truly incredible,” said Danielle Bricker, assistant ‌racing manager for repole Stable. “None of this happens without a ⁤true team effort from Repole Stable; trainers, jockeys, backstretch workers, and all of the farms. Repole Stable finished the ‌meet with a record of 61⁢ starts, 14 wins, 11 places, and⁤ 8 shows, earning $1,123,270 in total purse money.

Simultaneously​ occurring, jockey Jose Ortiz, Jr. completed the meet‍ with a record of ‍286-59-56-44 and earnings of $5,341,609, achieving a 20.63 percent win rate ​and a 55.59 percent in-the-money rate. His agent, Rushing, noted Ortiz’s Grade 1 victories in the Resorts World Casino Ballerina, Alabama presented by Keeneland Sales, and Test presented ‍by⁢ Ticketmaster. “He’s always been extremely talented,” Rushing said. “He’s one of‍ the top ​riders in the nation and he’s had‌ a great ⁤year. Everything has just come together for ⁤him.”

Ortiz, Jr. expressed his gratitude for the Saratoga experience, stating, “I’m happy for every horse I ⁤rode out there. It’s exciting when you win a maiden, ​you never know.
