Conversano, Italy – November 14, 2024 – The historic center of Conversano has transformed into a vibrant celebration of Apulian culture today as “Novello sotto il Castello” officially opened its doors. The annual event, organized by La Compagnia del Trullo, promises three days of autumn flavors, new wine tastings, art, and live music, running through Sunday, November 16th.
This year’s edition, a collaboration between the Municipality of Conversano, SDM Eventi, Confcommercio, Pro Loco, fondazione di Comunità d’Arti, Fruttattiva, and RadioNorba, blends tradition with innovation, spotlighting the region’s excellence.
The festivities kicked off with the opening of markets featuring local crafts and typical products along Corso Umberto I and Villa Garibaldi,filling the air with the aroma of roasted chestnuts and wine. A diverse musical lineup commenced at 6:00 PM in Piazza Castello with a DJ set by Paolo_M, followed by performances from Nesi (Spain) at 7:00 PM, Carl Bee (Malta) at 9:00 PM, and Mirracle (Austria) at 10:00 PM.
Simultaneously, the Belvedere Amphitheater hosted Mr Fabris at 6:30 PM and Conjunto_Subsantianigra at 9:30 PM, while Piazza XX Settembre featured Nicola Lovecchio DJ (6:30 PM) and Antonio Bucci with the Insolita Band (9:30 PM).
Art enthusiasts can explore exhibitions including ”Novello sotto il Castello dal 2009 al 2025″ by Mariateresa Fralonardo (Church of Santa Chiara), “Vita Pugliese” by Nico Nardomarino (Villa Garibaldi), and “Saying Without Will” by Salvatore Balice (Cloister of San Benedetto). A book presentation of “Sempre caro” by Giulia Anna Ferretti,with Tiziana Bonasia,took place at 7:00 PM in the Conference Room of the Monastery of San Benedetto.
Throughout the weekend,attendees can also enjoy open churches,artistic workshops at the MUSeCO museum complex,guided tours by Pro Loco,culinary workshops focused on the customary Cartellate pastry,and an remarkable opening of the Crypt of the Monastery of San Benedetto.
