Jacksonville, Florida – Aโข weekend marked by gun violence in Jacksonville resulted in one fatality adn injuries to two others in separate shooting incidents, police reported. Investigations areโฃ ongoing into โฃboth โขevents.
The first shooting occurred Sunday at approximatelyโ 5:13 a.m. on Cesery Boulevard, where officers discovered a man in his early 20s with โa gunshot wound to the calf. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.Preliminary investigations indicate the shooting followed a confrontation on Mills Creek โคRoad, though the victim and witnesses were unable to provide detailed descriptions of suspects or vehicles involved, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
The second, more serious incident unfolded Saturdayโค night around 8:40 p.m. at a Burger King located on Blanding Boulevardโข near Collins โฃRoad. JSO โคofficers arriving at the scene found two individuals suffering gunshotโ wounds. Despite โฃimmediate medical attention,one victim succumbedโค to their injuries. the other was hospitalized with injuries described โas non-life-threatening.
Detectives have detained multiple individuals for questioning to determine the circumstances leadingโค to โthe Burger King shooting and assess their potential involvement. The investigation is being jointly conducted by theโฃ JSO Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit, the โState Attorney’s Office, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.The incidentโข classification is currently pending.
