paris, france – โactor โBernard Campan โrecently accompanied his son, Loan, on a deeply emotional journey to Vietnam where they successfully located his biological family. The โฃtrip,โ years in the making, culminated in a reunion that Campan described as “overwhelming.”
Campan and โhis wife, Anne, adoptedโข Loan as a baby after facing challenges with fertility treatments, โคincludingโ multiple unsuccessful IVF attempts. “With Anne, we had lived a lot of failures. IVF, again and again. And then one day, we โsaid to ourselves: ‘we stop’. We made the choice ofโ adoption. A peaceful choice,” Campan recalled in an interview with La Tribune โขon Sunday, as reported by Gala. Loan joined the family at four and a half months old, before the birth of his sister,โ Nina, conceived throughโ a final successfulโ IVF treatment.
The โfamily navigated early integration difficulties withโ Loan, initiallyโฃ attributing them to the adoption process. Later,a diagnosis revealed โLoan possessed high intellectual potential (HPI).Years later, Loan expressed a desire toโ connect with โhisโฃ biological parents, prompting the โคtrip to vietnam.
“We all left there. Itโข was overwhelming,” Campan stated. โNow 27, Loan โขhas found stability with his life and friends in France, easing Campan’s initial concerns about his โขson potentially relocating permanently to Vietnam. “This thought lurks. Let โhim say: ‘My real place is here,'”โฃ Campan admitted, but ultimately โexpressedโ relief โคthat Loan remains rootedโค in France while maintaining a connection to his origins.
Campanโค is set to return to the stageโค September 18th in the playโ A side โstep alongside Isabelle โฃCarrรฉ at the Renaissance theater.
