A Festive Season at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium & Pรฉrez Galdรณs Theater
The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and the Pรฉrez Galdรณs Theater are set to host a vibrant programme of events this Christmas and New Year, offering a diverse range of performances for all ages and tastes.
The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium will feature a strong classical music presence. Audiences can experience a deeply spiritual interpretation of Bach‘s work with a performance by Isabel costes. The christmas spirit will be further embraced with the Christmas Oratory of Bach, performed by Camerata Bach and the Ainur Choir in collaboration with the International bach Festival, showcasing cantatas 1, 2, 4, and 6 detailing the nativity story. A charitable concert, Christmas Carols of the World, benefiting the Casa de Galicia’s “More than Kings” campaign, will be presented by the children’s and youth choirs of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tabaiba Folkloric Group. The traditional Popular New Year’s Concert of the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra will once again highlight local talent and commitment to Canary Islands musicians.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Auditorium will welcome Revolver celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic album The Golden, performed in full with Carlos Goรฑi and his band.A magical experience awaits with Three Kings Concert on Spanish Radio Television (The Magic Compass), a Disney-themed spectacle featuring the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir, renowned soloists, and conducted by Josรฉ Luis Lรณpez Antรณn, bringing beloved Disney songs to life.
Meanwhile, the Pรฉrez Galdรณs Theater’s Christmas programming offers a variety of theatrical experiences. The season opens with the premiere of the opera Faycรกn,based on the novel by Victor Doreste,a poetic exploration of power,freedom,and city life centered around a stray dog. Comedy will be provided by Dario Lopez with his show Half Totufo, a humorous look at everyday indecision.
ZalaKadula will mark 30 years on stage with a special retrospective show, while Little Girl, a family-friendly production, uses ABBA‘s music to accompany Princess Indira on a journey of empowerment. The family program concludes with Symphonic Harry, a symphonic tribute to the Harry Potter saga.
January will conclude with a thought-provoking performance of Brecht and Weill’s The threepenny Opera, directed by Mario Vega and starring Coke MESH, offering a critical perspective on capitalism and property. This production is the fourth from Segunda Lectura, a collaborative project between the Teatro Pรฉrez Galdรณs and unahoramenos.
