Peter Kay Announces Final Tour Dates, Donates All โProfits to Cancer Charities
London, UK -โ Comedian Peter Kay โrevealed the final dates for โhis upcoming tour during an appearance onโ BBC’s The One Show tonight, announcing that โขallโข profits from theโ shows โฃwillโ be donated to 12 cancer charities. โคThe tour, slatedโ to begin March 8th, marksโฃ the culmination of Kay’s return to live performance after a three-year hiatus.
Kay confirmedโ the tour will conclude next year and emphasized the deeply personal motivation behind donating all proceeds. “It’s finishing nextโ year, โคand I amโ announcing the last lot of shows โbut all profits โare going to cancer charities,” he โขstated. “They’re all 12 cancer charities whichโ are, Children with โcancer, UK Teenage cancer trust,โ kidney Cancer UK, โBlood cancer UK, Bowelโฃ cancerโ UK, Prostate UK.”
The full list of beneficiary charities includes DKMS, Ovarian Cancer Action, Pancreatic โCancer UK,โฃ Anthony Nolan, the brain tumour charity, and Breast Cancer UK. Kay acknowledged โขthe widespread impact of โคcancer, stating, “Unluckily, everybody knows someone who’s been โaffected on that list, and I just hope people supportโ it. Come to the shows, that’s why I’m here. You don’t even have to โฃlike โme, it goes beyond that. This isโ about supporting โคthose charities.”
In a characteristic moment of self-deprecating humor,โ Kay added, “If โit’s not funny, you get your money backโฆ You don’t. I โhope you’ll come and do it. It’s 12 cancer charities.”
