Report from Soledar. Assault groups of Russian prisoners go on until complete destruction

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 9, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Explosions or small arms are constantly heard. In the destroyed city, assault groups fight at distances of 20-30 meters, everyone moves from house to house with weapons at the ready, because the enemy is constantly trying to find cracks and wedge.

During the shooting, the locals are shocked, some are walking the dog in the yard, when they chirp nearby from all sides, and the bullets whistle in all directions, watering the walls. I can’t get used to from Severodonetsk that there are people who, even when shells destroy their homes and shoot at point blank range, try to prolong their peaceful life, as if the war does not touch themif they carefully ignore it. The locals live on the help of humanitarian organizations, which they brought for the new year, and their supplies, there is no connection. Our fighters feed those who ask for help.

Russian troops continue to storm Soledar every day, starting from December 27th. “Putin’s penal battalions” from the Wagner group and the Russian airborne troops are trying to knock out the city, defended by the 46th airborne brigade. It is difficult to describe in words how clearly and professionally the paratroopers fight, how each of them is constantly and continuously engaged in combat work. These warriors don’t need sympathy – they just need bullets, mines, “marriage mavic”, starlinks, tanks, HIMARS. They work to defeat and destroy the enemy.

Russian losses are difficult to calculate. Assault groups of Russian prisoners and volunteer mercenaries press forward to complete destruction. They are sent simultaneously from different directions day and night to move forward at any cost, despite the accurate shooting of the paratroopers, most of whom have already killed quite a few invaders on their own. Our artillery, tanks and missiles deliver accurate and corrective strikes. The Russians are trying to suppress our deadly artillery, using Lancet drones.

Russia needs political success, it wants to capture a Ukrainian city to show that mobilization allowed Putin to turn the tide of war. And the Russians do not take into account the losses at Soledar. By this time, the enemy had advanced into the city from three directions. Most of Soledar is under our fire control, but the enemy has managed to enter the buildings.

At the same time, the defense of the city remains effective, the 46th brigade acts thoughtfully, all actions are balanced and clear, the fighters fully trust their commanders. The 46th brigade deserves, in my opinion, the highest award. And whoever did not provide the paratroopers with the necessary support needs an objective assessment.

Our command sees the situation, sees threats from the flanks and a lot is being done to strengthen the defense. We have a lot of forces in this area, there are problems with control in some places, but they are solved by commanders who understand that the fate of the battle for Soledar depends on them.

“What the hell?” The Russian NHL star has turned his back on the US flag

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 8, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

A curious moment from the match with New Jersey added wickedness to the Russian goalkeeper.

Doorman New York Rangers Igor Shesterkin This season is unstable. Having received the award for the best goalkeeper of the championship, the Russian hockey player cannot find himself in any way.

In the final NHL regular season matchup against “New Jersey Devils” The goalkeeper also faced non-playing issues. A curious set of circumstances prompted a backlash from patriotic American hockey fans.

“What the hell?”

Last season, Russian Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin deservedly received the Vezina Trophy award as the best goalkeeper in the NHL. The Russian’s miracles in goal helped the New York team reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2015. Igor was even nominated for the Hart Trophy.

This year, pundits and fans have far more complaints about Shesterkin. The goalkeeper behaves erratically, often giving weak matches. The road game against New Jersey also started with a struggling Bay. Even before the initial throw-in, the player managed to get into a curious situation, which some American fans took extremely painfully.

A video of a fan of the “devils” appeared on social networks, where hockey players of both teams stand in front of the American flag during the anthem. The only one who looked the other way at that moment was the Russian Rangers goalkeeper.

Has Shesterkin turned his back on the flag? What the hell? I’ve never seen a goalkeeper look away from other players on ice during the national anthem,” @NewEraNJDevils1 wrote.

The video gained more than 60 thousand views in a short time. Many people liked it. After such a video, the Russian will obviously have more ill-wishers in the United States, although Igor has absolutely nothing to do with it.

The fact is that the whole team initially looked at Shesterkin, being behind. But just before the anthem was played, the field hockey players turned away. All this action happened behind Igor’s back and he didn’t see it. Teammates Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider tried to shout at the Russian, but he couldn’t hear them. As a result, it was like ignoring the American flag.

Not Shesterkin’s day

After the start of the match, the Russian continued to face problems, but Igor was not to blame for them either. On account of the goalkeeper there were 39 out of 43 reflex shots. In addition, Igor did not spare himself at all, substituting all parts of his body for opponents’ shots.

In the middle of the third period, a powerful blow from the Canadian defender of the “devils” Damon Severson hit Shesterkin right in the forehead. The hit was accentuated, not accidental. After that, the Russian goalkeeper came to his senses for a long time, wincing with discomfort and buzzing in his ears.

But Igor’s heroic save didn’t help the Rangers. The Azzurri lost in extra time with the score 3:4, even though they were leading by two goals. New Jersey’s comeback began immediately after the puck hit the goaltender’s helmet. Although there is no direct fault of the goalkeeper in them, but this does not make the defeat any less unpleasant for him.

The loss ended the New York team’s streak.

HEBRON, Kentucky (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden said on Thursday he was considering delivering the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle as a new form of military aid to Ukraine. When asked by reporters if that was an option, he replied: “Yes.”

The US Army has used the M2 Bradley as its primary means of moving infantry units close to the battlefield since the mid-1980s and currently has thousands of them. If deployed to Ukraine, the army’s firepower will be boosted.

However, Biden did not mention the M1 Abrams tanks Ukraine is requesting.

It is also unclear at this stage how many M2 Bradleys the US will supply. The US government is preparing further military aid to Ukraine, details of which are likely to be announced in the coming days.

A total of 5,245 people died.

Meanwhile, an official at the center said on Monday that it will eventually release case data on a monthly basis once the new coronavirus infection falls into control category ‘B’. Until now, the strictest level of management was required, but it has been announced that it will be lowered.

Huaxi Hospital in the southwestern city of Chengdu has been busy dealing with patients since the easing of restrictions on the new coronavirus on the 7th. Long lines formed at the emergency and fever clinics on the evening of the 27th. Most of the patients taken by ambulance wore oxygen masks.

An ambulance driver waiting outside the hospital said: “I’ve been doing this job for 30 years, but now it’s the busiest.”

“Almost all patients are infected with Covid-19,” said an emergency department pharmaceutical staff. Hospitals have run out of Covid-19 medicines and are prescribing medicines to relieve coughs and other symptoms, she said.

Officials at Beijing’s Chaoyang Hospital said most of the recent patients were elderly people with underlying medical conditions and were in critical condition, state media reported. He said the number of patients receiving emergency medical care has increased to 450-550 a day, up from about 100 a day.

The outpatient fever clinic at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital in Beijing is also said to be full of elderly patients.

Doctors and nurses are being asked to work when they are unwell and retired health workers are being rehired in rural areas. In some cities it is becoming difficult to get antipyretics.

PIDI, Indonesia (Reuters) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has asked countries to help the Rohingya Muslim minority who are adrift at sea. At least 20 Rohingya are believed to have died at sea. He also called for help for the hundreds of Rohingya who have landed in Indonesia after weeks adrift in the Indian Ocean.

Nearly 500 Rohingya have arrived in Indonesia in the past six weeks, but many countries have not responded to calls for help, UNHCR said in a statement.

A boat carrying 174 Rohingya arrived ashore on Saturday, according to authorities in the Indonesian province of Aceh on the island of Sumatra. Most were dehydrated and exhausted after weeks of drifting and needed urgent medical attention.

Survivors say the 40-day drift from Bangladesh to Indonesia killed more than 20 people and left the ship low on food and leaking water.

“Indonesians came here from Bangladesh’s largest refugee camp with the hope of giving us an opportunity to get an education,” said one survivor.

KABUL (Reuters) – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has called for the lifting of a ban imposed by the Taliban interim government on women working in non-governmental organizations operating in the country.

“With millions of people in Afghanistan in need of humanitarian assistance, it is essential to remove barriers,” UNAMA said in a statement. UNAMA interim representative Ramiz Arakbarov said he had met with Economy Minister Hanif.

The economy ministry on Thursday ordered NGOs not to hire female workers, saying some women did not follow Islamic dress codes as interpreted by the Taliban. While the directive does not apply directly to the United Nations, many of its programs are implemented by NGOs.

NGOs say they cannot run programs without female staff and four major NGOs around the world have already announced their suspension.

Aid agencies say more than half of the Afghan population depend on humanitarian assistance, making basic assistance essential, especially in winter.

In Afghanistan, where the economy is collapsing, NGOs have become an important source of employment, especially for women.
