Tiffany Hsu, chief buying director at Mytheresa, offered a buyer’s perspective on the Fall 2026 collections, highlighting key trends and the evolving relationship between brands and retailers.

Hsu emphasized the unique appeal of London Fashion Week, noting its reputation for innovation and a willingness to deviate from purely commercial considerations. “When you come to London Fashion Week, you always want to observe something refreshing, something you haven’t seen in the market — more creativity, maybe a little less commercial. London designers are known for thinking outside the box,” she stated on the podcast.

Several shows stood out during the week, according to Hsu. Burberry presented a collection centered on outerwear, while Simone Rocha and Erdem Moralıoğlu showcased romantic and opulent designs. The podcast likewise noted the presence of sculptural and conceptual work from newer designers Daniel Del Valle and Stevo Smith. Hsu stressed the importance of experiencing collections firsthand, stating, “It’s super important to see the collection in person — to see the fit, to see it on the model, to touch the fabrics.” She described the overall aesthetic as “very romantic, Gothic, very opulent,” characterizing the mood as a “romantic darkness” that is distinctly London’s.

The discussion also touched upon the critical factors influencing the partnership between retailers like Mytheresa and the brands they represent. Hsu explained that successful collaborations hinge on a brand’s ability to deliver on the promise of its runway presentation. “It boils down to something very simple: production, delivery and price point. Sometimes what’s on the runway can’t actually be reproduced. If they can only offer a watered-down version, then I can’t represent the brand the way I want to. We are the connection between the product and the customer, so we necessitate to be confident they can deliver.”

The Glossy Fashion Podcast, hosted by senior fashion reporter Zofia Zwieglinska, regularly features insights from industry leaders on the evolving fashion landscape.
