Marco Antonio Solรญs, alongside his Los Bukis bandmates Javier and Joel Solรญs, pepe and Roberto Guadarrama, Pedro Sรกnchez, and Eusebio “El Chivo” Cortez, accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The iconic Mexican pop-rock group, Los Bukis, reunited in 2021 after a 25-year hiatus, embarking on a highly successful tour that included sold-out performances at major stadiums like Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, and New York’s MetLife Stadium.
Established in 1976, Los Bukis disbanded in 1996, allowing Marco Antonio Solรญs to pursue a prolific solo career. His solo work garnered five Latin Grammys and includes popular songs such as “Mรกs Que Tu Amigo” and “Si No Te Hubieras Ido.” Solรญs was further recognized by the Latin Recording Academy with the Person of the Year award in 2022. Following the initial split, the remaining members of Los Bukis formed a new group called Los Mismos, featuring Pedro Velรกsquez as their lead vocalist.
During the ceremony, Solรญs expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is indeed a special, wonderful dayโฆ a blessing from god, but look, thanks to our reunion, we can be here celebrating this blessing that God has given us. How many of us came here to look at the stars here, and now we have one.” The group was introduced by comedian Gabriel “Iglesias” Fluffy and Oscar-nominated actor Demiรกn Bichir. los bukis are celebrated for numerous hit songs, including “I need you,” “Your jail,” “how I went to fall in love with you,” “And now you leave,” and “my biggest need.”
