Lola Young Cancels All Upcoming Shows, Citingโข Need to โขFocus on Health
Rising UK singer-songwriter Lola Young has canceled all โof her scheduledโข performances “for โฃthe foreseeable future,” โannouncingโข the decision via a statement posted to her social media channels.โฃ The โcancellation impactsโค fansโ awaiting her appearances at festivals and concerts, and marks โขtheโข latest inโฃ aโฃ series of public health challenges for the 22-year-old artist.
Young’s decision follows a recentโ incident atโ the All Things Go โfestival where she fainted onstage, andโค a prior withdrawal โคfrom Audacy’s โฃWe Can โSurvive Concert in Newark due toโฃ mental health โขconcerns. Ticket holders areโ entitled to full โฃrefunds, Young stated, expressing โขdeep regretโข for disappointing her audienceโ and hoping for a secondโฃ chance afterโข prioritizing herโ well-being.
“It pains me to say I haveโข to โcancel everything for the โฃforeseeableโ future,” Young wrote. “Thank you for all the love and โsupport.I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has boughtโข a ticket to see โขme, โit hurts โคme more than youโฃ know. Obviously you will be entitled toโ a full refund. โI really hope you’ll give โขme a second chance โonce โคI’ve had some timeโค to work on myself andโ come backโ stronger. Love you all,Lola x.”
Young has been open about her struggles with ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, and, โคmost recently, cocaine addiction, for whichโข she received treatment inโ a 2024 rehab stay. Earlier this year, during her debut โperformance at Coachella, she โขvomited onstage, attributing the incident to nerves.
The artist gained โprominence through competition shows like Open Mic UK and Got Whatโ It Takes? before achieving โฃmainstream success in 2023 with her single โ”Messy,” which topped โthe โUK Singles Chart for four weeks. She has released three studio albums, โขincluding I’m Only F**king Myself, released โin โคJune 2024.
