Vidi Aldiano Steps Back From Social Media too Prioritize Cancer treatment
Indonesian singer Vidi Aldiano announced on Instagram today that he is taking a hiatus from regular social media activity to focus on his ongoing cancer treatment. The decision comes as the disease has spread, requiring him to return to the initial medication prescribed when he was first diagnosed in 2019.
Aldiano, born in 1990, first publicly revealed his battle with kidney cancer in 2019, undergoing surgery to remove the affected kidney in Singapore that December. While he intends to remain present on social media intermittently, particularly for brand collaborations, he emphasized the need to prioritize his health. “Even though I know that we will probably rarely see each other, I hope you can accept my decision,” Aldiano wrote. “And I hope that you will continue to pray for me, so that I can continue my healthy journey with enthusiasm! I love you guys so much!“
this announcement marks a renewed challenge in Aldiano’s long-term fight against cancer. In September 2023,he disclosed that cancer cells had spread,necessitating routine treatment every three weeks.More recently, in june 2025, he confirmed further progression of the disease and a return to his original medication.
Aldiano has consistently rejected the label of “cancer fighter,” stating he prefers to surrender to the treatment process rather than battle its side effects.He has also addressed public commentary regarding his weight loss, attributing it to a strict diet following kidney removal.
