Manama, Bahrain – November 14, 2023 – Team ACERS clinched the championship title at The Indian Club Members Team โChampionship Badminton Tournament, concluding November 13th at the Public โSecurity Officers’ โclub. The victoryโ marks a highโ point for the team after โa week-long competition showcasing the talent within The Indianโข Club’s Badminton Section.
the โtournament, โขwhichโฃ beganโ November 8th, drew over 80 participants-including โmore than ten female players-competing in Men’s Doublesโ and Mixed Doubles โevents. This annual competition โfosters camaraderie โandโ athletic spirit amongโ theโ Indian Club’s membership, providingโ a platform for competitive play and community engagement. The results will determine team standings for the โfollowing year’s tournament andโ inspire continued participation in the club’s badminton โขactivities.
The final matchโฃ proved โintensely competitive, โculminating in a 3-2 victory for Team โACERS, captained by โTogi Mathew, over Team IC WOLFS, lead by Captain N.S. Jain. โฃThe closely โคcontested final โcaptivated spectators and highlighted the skill level of both teams.
During the prize distribution ceremony, the Indian club President โคJoseph Joy, Generalโข Secretary โขAnil Kumar R., and Badminton โSecretary Binu Pappachen presented trophies to theโค winners and โrunners-up.Both teams also โฃreceived an ever-rolling โคtrophy recognizing their achievement.
