Man Assaults Officer During Mobilization Check in Kharkiv Region
Kharkiv Region, Ukraine – A local resident assaulted a law enforcement officer at a district territorial recruitment and social support center (TCC and SP) in the Kharkiv region early sunday morning. The incident occured during a routine document check.
the confrontation took place at approximately 1:45 AM on July 20 in the village of Kegichevka, Berraestinsky district. Police officers were verifying the documents of a local resident who, according to available databases, was wanted for evading mobilization.
The man,identified as a 20-year-old local resident,reportedly entered the TCC and SP premises aggressively. He resisted the officers and struck one of them, causing bodily harm. The attacker was subsequently detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings against the individual under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to threats or violence against a law enforcement officer. The resolution regarding reporting the man for suspicion is currently underway. The legal framework for this offense carries a potential penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.
