Volleyball England has opened applications for coaching and coordinator roles within its zonal structure, aiming to bolster the development of the nation’s volleyball talent. Applications were released on February 24th and will close on March 15th, with interviews scheduled throughout April.
The voluntary positions are divided across four zones: North, Central, London and East, and South, and West. The South and West zone encompasses Sussex, Surrey, and the wider West region, according to Volleyball England. A Head Coach position is specifically sought for the South and West zone, alongside Assistant Coach roles across all four areas.
The roles emphasize investment in both on-court skill development and off-court performance enhancement, including nutrition, psychology, and physical conditioning. Volleyball England states that reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for those selected.
The South West Volleyball Association (SWVA) works with clubs and associations across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Wiltshire, as well as clubs in South Wales and the Channel Islands of Guernsey and Jersey. Interview schedules have been set: Head Coach interviews will take place the week of April 6th. Assistant Coach interviews are scheduled for April 13th (London and East, South and West) and April 14th (North) and April 15th (Midlands). Zone Coordinator interviews will follow, with the South and West zone interviews scheduled for April 8th.
