banamiga Empowersโ Venezuelan Entrepreneurs Overโ 50 with “Undertake After 50″ Forum
CARACAS, Venezuela – Banamiga is actively โfostering economic development and social inclusion by challenging age-related barriersโ to entrepreneurship. The bank recently hosted โa virtual forum,โ “Undertake After 50,” connecting โคover โ200โค attendees nationwide and highlighting the growing potential of the “silver economy.”
Facilitated by Mauricio Parilli, โขdirector โof Learn and Entreo, the forum aimed to โequip Venezuelan entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to capitalize on business opportunitiesโข within the expanding demographic of older adults. Milagro Gonzรกlez, banamiga’s Director of Social Responsibility, explained the event’s core purpose: to “continue to train Venezuelan entrepreneurs and sensitize participants about the businessโข opportunitiesโฃ that exist for older people,โข demystifying the idea that age is anโข obstacle to undertaking.”
Parilli emphasized a global shift in perspective, noting that older individuals are increasinglyโฃ recognized not as a burden, but as a valuable consumer market with โunique โneeds and the capacity for self-employment. He stressed the importance of adapting to this “new longevity” and understanding the potential of the silver economy – generating products andโฃ services specifically tailored to improve the quality of life,โ economic โฃindependence, and employment opportunities for seniors.
According to parilli, 19% of Venezuela’s population is over 55, โrepresenting over five million potential consumers and entrepreneurs. He โขhighlighted a โฃnotable gap in the market, stating that 55% of the elderly feel companies don’t adequately cater to theirโข needs, with healthโค andโ well-being identified as โคareas with theโ largest unmet demand (61%).
“The main thing is to understand the change of mentality and narrative,” Parilliโ stated. “The new narrative is called a new โlongevity and is establishing that we will have more life expectancy and thereforeโ we โขenterโ the world of silver economy, where the barriers โof age are demolished, and we begin to have a dynamic population with increasingly significant consumption capacity.”
Through initiatives like the “Undertake After 50” forum, Banamiga reaffirms its commitment to supporting Venezuelan entrepreneurs and โdriving economic growth through inclusive practices.
