Rollins adn Vermeulen Crowned Champions at 2025 Chequamegon MTB Festival
CHEQUAMEGON,WI – โAlexey Vermeulen โand Kyan Olshoveโ delivered electrifying performances at the 2025 Chequamegon 40 Pro โMen’s race,securing the top two spots on the podium in aโ thrilling finish. Vermeulen took the win with a time of 1:56:39, followed closely by Olshove (1:56:43) and โฃBrendan Johnston (1:56:43).
The raceโ saw Vermeulen make โa decisive move,opening a fifteen-second gap before the two-mile-to-go checkpoint. “I started trying to make my moves with around seven miles to go,” Vermeulen said after the race. “I could โsee the group was โฃsplintering, and guys were chasing to regain contact, andโค I โคknew the rubber โband would eventually snap and gaps would start to open up. โSoโข I just bided my timeโฆโ I just trustedโ myself, saw the gap happen, and just committed.” The victory marks a criticallyโข important rebound for Vermeulen following a challenging performance atโค Unbound Gravel.
The tightly contested race saw seven riders finish within a single second of each other, claiming positions four through ten.โค Torbjรธrn Andre Rรธed,โข Cobe Freeburn, Laws Lange, simon Pellaud, Cameron Jones, Payson McElveen, and Andrew L’Esperance all finished with a time of 1:56:44 or 1:56:45.
Notably, Olshove, a cross-country mountain bike racer from Michigan, achieved a career-best result in โthe Life Time Grand Prix series. The raceโ also impacted the overall seriesโค standings, with Swenson finishing outside the top ten while rivals Rรธed and Pellaud gained ground.
