‘Tulsaโ King’ Season โ4 Faces Majorโฃ Crew Shakeup Aheadโ of Production
Ahead of its โfourth โคseason, Tulsa king โฃ is โundergoing a โmeaningful behind-the-scenesโ overhaul, with approximately โคtwo dozenโ crew members beingโค replaced by โ101 Studios. The changes, which have sparked concernโฃ among industry professionals, include the departureโค of โkey personnel despite positive contributions to the series.
Among โthose affected was โSylvester Stallone‘s stand-in for all three seasons, Chad Gregory,โ who was informed through a friend that his positionโ was being eliminated andโฃ reposted at a higher โrate of $400 a day, up from his previous $250. Gregory was โฃalso offered a role โas aโค photo double but declined. Emmy-nominated stunt coordinator pooleโข noted a high rate of turnover, stating, “I’ve been in this โbusiness for 30 years and I’ve been โon shows for multiple โคseasons, and I’ve never โคseen this kind of turnover.”
While 101 Studios and Paramount have declined to comment, sources indicate the replacements are not related to budget cuts and thatโ all those let go were working without contracts. The studio maintains that crewโฃ turnover is “standard practice” across the industry.
the creative direction of Tulsa โคKing is also shifting, with Terence winter returning as executive producerโฃ and head writer, while Season 3โข showrunner Dave Erickson is exiting.โฃ This follows Winter‘s previous departure โคas showrunner after Season 1โ and subsequent return inโ a writing/executiveโค producer capacity for Season 2.
These changes occur as Taylor โSheridan, previously โคassociated with Paramount, prepares to moveโข to NBCUniversal with a new five-year overall deal โbeginning January 1, 2029, following theโ expiration of his Paramount contract in 2028. Paramount Globalโ recently announced significant job cuts, impacting approximately 2,000 U.S.-based workers.
