Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried to Star in Psychological Thriller ‘The Housemaid‘ – First Look & details
LAS VEGAS – A first look at Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried in Paul feig’s upcoming psychological thriller, The Housemaid, debuted at CinemaCon today, generating significant buzz. Based on the novel by Freida McFadden, the film promises a suspenseful narrative of secrets and shocking twists, and is slated for release in 2025.
The adaptation of McFadden’s bestselling novel arrives as both stars continue to ascend in Hollywood, with Sweeney solidifying her status after Anyone But You and Seyfried garnering acclaim for her work in Poor Things. The Housemaid is poised to capitalize on the popularity of the thriller genre and the drawing power of its leading ladies, offering audiences a gripping story of deception and hidden motives.The story centers on Millie (Sweeney), a young woman who believes she’s found a fresh start as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Winchester couple, Nina (Seyfried) and andrew (Brandon sklenar). However, she soon discovers the seemingly perfect couple harbors dark secrets, leading to a series of unsettling revelations.
Paul Feig, known for directing A Simple Favor (2018) and its upcoming sequel Another Simple favor (2024), is at the helm. rebecca Sonnenshine penned the screenplay. The film is being produced by Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures,alongside Feigco’s Paul Feig and Laura Fischer. Sweeney, Seyfried, and author McFadden will serve as executive producers, with Carly Kleinbart Elter overseeing the project for Hidden Pictures and Alex Young also executive producing.
