Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) wrote to the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights to do so prevention abroad against three advocates, namely Febri DiansyahRasamala Aritonang and Donal Fariz.

This prevention is related to the handling of cases of alleged extortion, gratification and money laundering by former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).

“The KPK investigative team has again submitted a request to prevent three people from traveling abroad and this letter has been submitted to Immigration. The parties in question are three advocates,” said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri at his office, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/11 ).

The prevention of going abroad lasts for six months and can be extended once for the same period. Ali asked Febri et al to cooperate in assisting the investigation process which is currently being carried out.

“Prevention against traveling abroad is part of the investigation needs, where if the information from these three advocates is needed they are in the country and of course the SYL case file can be completed smoothly,” explained Ali.

CNNIndonesia.com has contacted the Public Relations Sub-coordinator of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh, to confirm the Corruption Eradication Commission’s statement, but has not yet received an answer.

Meanwhile, Febri, Rasamala and Donal admitted that they were not aware of this prevention.

“I don’t know this information yet. What is certain is that we carry out our duties as advocates in good faith and professionally,” said Febri when confirmed.

The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) named SYL, Director of Agricultural Tools and Machinery, Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities, Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hatta, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kasdi Subagyono, as suspects in an alleged corruption case within the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture.

Regarding SYL, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also charged him with money laundering.

The suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and Article 12 letter B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.

SYL is also suspected of violating Article 3 and/or Article 4 of Law 8/2010 concerning the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU).

A number of witnesses have been questioned in the investigation process. These include the Household Coordinator of the General Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Arief Sofian; Ministry of Agriculture General and Procurement Bureau Staff 2011-present M. Yunus; Maidaswar Veterinary Medical Functional.

Then the Head of the Household Subdivision, Head of the General and Procurement Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture for 2020-2021, Isnar Widodo; Head of the Administration and Household Subdivision of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure & Facilities, Ministry of Agriculture, Lukman Irwanto; and Special Staff to the Minister of Agriculture, Imam Mujahidin Fahmid.

The Corruption Eradication Commission found checks worth IDR 2 trillion when searching the official residence of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). UGM Anti-Corruption Center (Pukat) researcher Zaenur Rohman asked KPK First check the contents of the check.

“What needs to be investigated further by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is firstly the veracity of the checks. The Corruption Eradication Committee can check the contents of the checks to see whether the checks have contents or are empty checks. Because of the Rp. 2 trillion, I don’t know whether this practice exists or not,” “But it seems like the figure of IDR 2 trillion in the form of a check is a very large amount,” Zaenur told reporters, Monday (16/10/2023).

“How do you do it? Yes, ask for help from PPATK or the KPK itself asks the bank to look at the contents of the account related to the person in the check. If it’s for law enforcement, that’s possible,” he added.

Then, he also asked the KPK to investigate the figure on the check. Zaenur said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) must also investigate the importance of the check with the fantastic value.

“Secondly, what name is on the check, who is it, is it related to SYL and so on. Thirdly, whether or not it is related to a criminal act being investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission. That can be traced, when it was given, for what purpose and so on,” he said .

“I’m actually still wondering whether the contents of IDR 2 trillion are true. Everyone can make a check. If the contents have been moved, the PPATK can trace them in this big case,” he added.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) revealed that checks of fantastic value were found when they searched the official residence of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). The investigative team found checks worth IDR 2 trillion.

“After we checked and confirmed, we obtained information that it was true that there was the evidence in question,” said Head of KPK News Affairs Ali Fikri when confirmed, Monday (16/10). He answered the question of finding a check for IDR 2 trillion at SYL’s official residence.

SYL’s official residence in the South Jakarta area was searched by KPK investigators on Thursday (28/9). At that location, investigators also found cash worth IDR 30 billion and 12 firearms.

Ali has not provided details regarding the ownership of this fantastic check. He said that his party would examine a number of witnesses to confirm indications that the checks were related to the SYL corruption case.

“We need confirmation and clarification from various parties first, including witnesses, suspects and other related parties to ensure the validity of the check in question. Including whether there is a direct link to the main case that the Corruption Eradication Committee is currently resolving,” explained Ali.

Former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) submitted a pretrial to the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

The application is registered with case number: 114/Pid.Pra/2023/PN JKT.SEL. Case classification is whether the determination of a suspect is valid or not.

“Applicant: Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Respondent: Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia,” said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer Djuyamto when confirmed via written message, Wednesday (11/10).

The South Jakarta District Court’s SIPP page does not yet contain information regarding the pretrial application.

This case will be tried by single judge Alimin Ribut Sujono. The first trial will take place on Monday, October 30 2023.

Syahrul’s legal team, Febri Dianysah and Erwin Lubis have not responded to confirmation CNNIndonesia.com regarding the pretrial application.

The KPK has reportedly named three people as suspects in a suspected corruption case within the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). They are SYL, Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery at the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hatta, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kasdi Subagyono.

The anti-corruption agency uses articles on extortion, gratification and money laundering in the legal process at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD has also revealed Syahrul’s suspect status. However, he was reluctant to reveal details regarding the status of Syahrul, who is also known as a NasDem politician.

“That he is a suspect, yes, I have received the information. In fact, since the exposure, I have known the suspect for a long time, but officially the suspect has been released,” said Mahfud at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/10) afternoon.

In the process of this investigation, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has searched the SYL minister’s official residence on Jalan Widya Chandra, Central Jakarta and the Ministry of Agriculture’s office in South Jakarta some time ago. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) secured a number of pieces of evidence allegedly related to the case, such as Rp. 30 billion in cash and documents containing money flows.

SYL’s residence on Jalan Pelita Raya, Makassar, has also been searched. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a car suspected of being related to the case in this coercive effort.

Apart from that, SYL and a number of other parties including his wife, children and grandchildren have been prevented by the KPK from traveling abroad for six months until April 2024.
