Petrobras President โคWarns against Betting Against โคCompany, Cites Strong โQ3 Results & Renewable Energy Focus
RIO DEโฃ JANEIRO – Petrobras President Magda Chambriardโค issued a strong statement Friday, declaring that anyone who bets against the company “willโ lose,” citing robust third-quarter 2025 results and aโข strategic shift โtowards โขrenewable energy sources. The declaration comes amid ongoing debate surrounding potential โoil exploration in the Equatorial Margin and a global energy transition.
Chambriard underscoredโฃ petrobras’ historical roleโ as a key driver of Brazil’s economy, noting the company enabled the nation’s first majorโ export – oil – โคover the past seven decades. However, she acknowledged aโ changing global landscape, with slowing โคoil demand, declining prices, and โincreasing societalโ pressure for clean energy alternatives.โ This context, coupled with a 28.6% jumpโฃ inโ investments totaling US$14 billion in the first nine months of the year, fuels the confidence behind her assertive message.
“But the world has โchanged, and โขBrazil has changed along with it. Demand for oil โhas had its growth โฃrateโ almost annulled, the price is in sharp decline โคandโ society demands moreโฃ clean energy from us,” Chambriard stated. She highlighted Petrobras’ long-standingโ commitment to โrenewable energy, citing its early investments in ethanol, biodiesel, solar power, and โขthe country’s first wind energyโค project.
The executive emphasized ongoing negotiationsโ to position the company for success over the next 72 years, requiring “adaptation effort and a lot of commitment” โfrom the Petrobras team and its partners.โ “With determination, there is nothingโ that this company cannotโฃ deliver to the country. The results of the third quarter of 2025 sayโข so,” she โadded, concluding โคwith a rallying cry: “A team that โฃis a team guarantees the vanguard!”
