RTL Blocks Interview with Suzan & Freek,Citing PR Concerns Amidst Health Battle & Joyful Pregnancy
Amsterdam,Netherlands – A recent interview with Dutch musical duo Suzan & Freek has been blocked from airing on SBS 6,reportedly due to RTL’s internal PR strategy. Shownieuws reporter eline de Ruig conducted the interview last week on the set of The voice of Holland, but RTL has prevented its broadcast.
“I was permitted to interview them for Shownieuws, but we can only air that footage at a later date,” de Ruig explained in a segment on Shownieuws (link in sources). The restriction is particularly frustrating,she added,as the interview focused on Suzan Stortelder’s pregnancy – a source of immense joy for the couple as they navigate a difficult time.
Suzan & Freek announced in the spring that Freek Rikkerink is battling lung cancer. Despite the challenging prognosis, the duo is continuing their commitments, including their roles as coaches on the new season of The voice of Holland, currently in production.
