Linz-Based Musician Dreamer Dreamer Discusses New EP, Influences on Subtext on Air
Singer and songwriter Dreamer Dreamer, also known as Hannes Prรถstler, discussed his musical journey and latest release on the August 28th episode of subtext on Air. Prรถstler’s debut album, New Face, released last year, stemmed from personal experiences, specifically a separation in 2021.He described the album as a process of rediscovery following the relationship’s end, allowing him to reconnect with himself.
Dreamer Dreamer intentionally avoids strict genre categorization, though his work draws inspiration from 90s choice rock. The artist explained the origin of his stage name, revealing it originated from childhood dreams of a music career, with the repetition adding a touch of sarcasm. “I always dream huge, as when you are a few levels underneath, you are still happy,” he shared. His aspirations include performing on large stages and reaching a wider audience.
He recently released a new EP,Stripped Down, featuring the song Kings&Queens, which he also performs for his music students. Dreamer Dreamer encouraged listeners to support independant artists by attending concerts and purchasing merchandise. He also shared that he studied music at the Bruckner University in Linz, a city he now considers a second home.
