Netflix Reveals Voice Cast & First Look at ‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’ Animated series
Netflix unveiled the voice cast and initial designs for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, an animated series expanding the universe of the hit sci-fi show, on Stranger Things Day (November 6th), commemorating the day Will Byers disappeared in Hawkins, Indiana in 1983. The series, set to debut in 2026, will take place between Seasons 2 and 3 of the live-action Stranger Things.
the animated installment features Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams as Lucas, braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. joining them are additional voice actors Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips. Stranger things creators Matt and Ross Duffer shared that exploring an animated series was among their earliest ideas for expanding the franchise.
According to the Duffers, the animation format allows for “no limits” in storytelling, enabling them to “go wild” with the narrative. Matt Duffer described the intent to “evoke a feeling of an ’80s cartoon,” while Ross Duffer emphasized the creative freedom the medium provides.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 is set in the winter of 1985, where the characters will confront new monsters and a paranormal mystery terrorizing Hawkins.Eric Robles serves as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producers also include Matt and Ross Duffer, hilary leavitt (Upside Down Pictures), shawn Levy (21 Laps), and Dan Cohen.
