Before the verdict, the builder of the port in Ust-Luga, Valery Izraylit, remembered the president and did not admit his guilt.

“By the time of my arrest, 12 terminals, a railway line and an oil depot were operating in the port. Cargo turnover was 100 million tons, we were the fourth in Europe,” the defendant says.

The investigation found fraud in the amount of 208 million rubles in the supply of pipes for the construction of the Transneft oil depot. Subsequently, it turned out that the controversial material evidence had been destroyed.
