NEW YORK โฃ- Sept. 23,โ 2024 – Mastercard todayโ announced its latestโฃ cohort for the Start Path program, a fintech โstartup accelerator, wiht a notable focus on โcompanies โคdrivingโ innovation within theโข circular economy. Thisโฃ class โฃincludes Pentatonic, which automates productโฃ buybacks for resale, repair, or recycling; Circular, integrating automated resale into payment methods; and Circulayo, enabling instant deposits and environmental impact measurements for reusable packaging.
The program’s โexpansion reflectsโข Mastercard’s commitment to fostering lasting commerce and supporting startupsโ that addressโ evolving consumer โneeds. With a global acceptance network of over 150 million merchants, thousands of banking partners, and โขmore than 3.5 โbillion cardsโ in circulation, Mastercard aims to โleverage its reach to promote conscious purchasing choices. Beyond the circular economy, Mastercard โbroadened Start Path in July to โฃencompass a Securityโข Solutions program, โdedicated toโ supporting startups in cybersecurity, fraud mitigation, digital identity, and payment resiliency.In May, the company also unveiledโ the inaugural Start Path Acceptance group, concentratingโ on payment acceptance solutionsโค for smallโ businesses andโค nontraditional channels. this group โfeatures late-stage startups developing low-cost solutions and expanding acceptance options.
