Judith Fiala Appointed Managing Director at Wienit
Judith fiala, 41, has been appointed as the second โคmanaging director of Wienit, the IT competence center for the Viennaโ Stadtwerke Group. She will โoversee the company’s commercial operations, including financialโ management, controlling, legal affairs, and purchasing. Gerald โStรถckl will continue to lead Wienit’s technicalโข and operational โขdivisions.

Fiala most recently served as managingโค director โฃof Vienna Localโฃ Railways Cargo GmbHโ (WLC), โan international railway traffic company, a role she held since 2023. During her tenure at WLC,she focused on โคimproving overall performance,increasing production qualityโ and โขefficiency,restoring profitability,andโ advancing digitization initiatives.โค She is currently on maternity โขleave, scheduledโข to end in June 2025, and oversaw the โคcompany’s current sales process prior to her leave.
Prior to WLC, Fiala spent several years โwith the Rail Cargo Group (รBB), culminatingโ in her position as Head of Business Unit. She was also a member of the Rail Cargo group Management Board and a Reporterโ for bothโฃ Rail Cargo โขAustria AG and Railโค Cargo Logistics GmbH, beginning in 2018.Fiala’s careerโ began in the European parliament, where she servedโ as an office manager for Jรถrg Leichtfried from 2009 to 2013. She then held positionsโ within the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, including Cabinet Chief, โฃand various management roles within the รBB group, spanning areas like โขlaw, purchasing,โฃ and business operations.
Fiala holds degrees in law and economics from the University of Innsbruck. She also completedโข executive management training at the St. Gallen Business School, specializing in Finance,โข Strategy, and Leadership, and gained international โexperience through โstudies in Strasbourg. A โคnative of Tyrol, she currently resides in โVienna with herโค family.
Wienit is a key component ofโฃ the โWiener Stadtwerke Group, โproviding central IT and business โsupport to the organization’s various divisions. The company โemploys approximately 800 โindividuals whoโข deliver a range of services, including IT infrastructure management, personnel processes, media planning, andโ printing services.
