SSMB29 Production Paused Amidst Kenyan Unrest; Cinematographer Shake-up announced
Hyderabad, India – The highly anticipated SSMB29, a global cinematic venture helmed by acclaimed director SS Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu, has encountered a meaningful production hurdle. the film’s next shooting phase, initially slated to commence this month in Kenya, has reportedly been postponed due to escalating civil unrest in the East African nation.
According to recent reports,Kenya is experiencing widespread protests stemming from public dissatisfaction with the government’s financial policies and alleged corruption. The situation has devolved into violent clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement, resulting in numerous fatalities. The deteriorating security landscape has prompted Rajamouli and his production team to halt the planned shoot, which had been meticulously planned two months in advance.
While the Kenyan schedule is unlikely to proceed as planned this week, the SSMB29 team is actively exploring alternative filming locations, with Tanzania and South Africa reportedly under consideration. A revised production schedule is expected to be announced shortly.
in addition to the location adjustments, SSMB29 also marks a notable change in Rajamouli’s trusted creative team. The director has parted ways with long-time cinematographer K. K. Senthil kumar, who has been instrumental in the visual storytelling of Rajamouli’s previous blockbusters, including “RRR,” “Eega,” the “Baahubali” series, and “Magadheera.” Cinematographer P. S. Vinod has been brought on board to fill this crucial role, a decision reportedly made directly by Rajamouli.
As the production team navigates these changes, fans eagerly awaiting this enterprising project will need to exercise patience as the global adventure of SSMB29 continues to take shape.
