Pope files abuse lawsuit – Bavaria

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 8, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Sourdough Initiative, which has pledged to deal with the abuse scandal in Garching an der Alz in Upper Bavaria, is asking Pope Francis to file a lawsuit in the Traunstein district court. Or as the “legal successor of Benedict XVI”, as stated in an open letter published on Saturday. “Your unconditional collaboration in a judicial clarification would be an important step that goes to the root of the devastating taboo and the trivialization of the extent of the abuses and removes the cover of paedocriminal structures within the clergy”, wrote those in charge of the initiative to Francis.

The purpose of the lawsuit is, among other things, to determine whether those responsible in the Munich-Freising archdiocese covered up the crimes and thus made further crimes possible. Shortly after the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. the district court had stated that the case against Benedikt continues, at least for the time being. The reason: there is a legal representative; Joseph Ratzinger, as his real name was, hired a large law firm to represent him. However, his lawyers can ask for a break until it is clear who the heirs are. The lawsuit would then be directed against them in the future.

In the summer of last year, a man who said he was abused by the convicted repeat offender Priest H. in Garching an der Alz filed a civil action, a so-called declaratory action, in the Traunstein district court. It is directed against the condemned priest himself, against the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising, against former Archbishop Cardinal Friedrich Wetter – and it was also directed against Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who died on New Year’s Eve. He was archbishop in Munich when the attacker was transferred to the diocese.

Concerts after Corona: ticket sales “worse than before the crisis” – culture

Clear, Ramstein. The Olympic Stadium in Munich has been sold out four times, in around two and a half minutes. 240,000 spectators, ticket server collapsed. Probably more would have gone. P!nk also seems to work beautifully, just like Blackpink. hot red chillies, Coldplay: more flourishing life. Helene, Robbie, Harry, Ed: huge demand. Taylor Swift had to stop pre-sales in the United States – too many people wanted tickets. On Twitter, the organizer wrote of a “historically unprecedented” request and anyone who thinks that from now on the devil will shit on the biggest pile is obviously right.

Frankfurt am Main (dpa/lhe) – Traditionally, many Frankfurt residents, but also visitors from neighboring cities, gather on the banks of the Main on New Year’s Eve to welcome in the new year, preferably on one of the bridges over the Main. On Saturday, however, many people were in a party mood much earlier. With spring temperatures, hundreds of people sat and lingered in the bars and cafés of the old town, on the Römerberg and on the Main. The mulled wine stalls that were still there were left behind, because around 16 degrees a cool summer drink seemed more suitable for the last day of the year.

For the first time since the start of the corona pandemic, there have been no regulations restricting contacts in the main metropolis and fireworks are also widely permitted. Special regulations applied to the safety area, which was again set up at the pedestrian bridge “Eiserner Steg”, including the two bridgeheads in front. It was forbidden to carry and light fireworks here to avoid injury to crowded people.

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Three unknown girls are said to have been involved in an arson attack in a Freiburg nursing home. As announced by the police on Thursday, the girls allegedly placed a burning object between a half-closed shutter and the window glass of an apartment on the ground floor of the residential complex on Tuesday afternoon. The tenant of the apartment discovered the fire and managed to put it out on his own.

The alleged perpetrators, aged between 13 and 16, fled through a nearby playground when they saw the resident. It was initially unclear whether other unknown people were involved in the arson.
