Solapur, Maharashtra – โฃA First Facts Reportโ (FIR) โhas been registered โagainstโ a โฃlocal Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) worker โand others for โallegedly obstructing government officials during an operation targeting โillegal soil excavation inโฃ kurduvadiโ village on August 31. โฃThe โขcase follows a widely circulated video depictingโ Deputy Chief Minister Ajit โPawar sharply rebuking IPS officer Anjana Krishna, the Karmalaโข Sub-Divisional โคPolice Officer (SDPO), during a phone โcallโ relatedโค to the โฃincident.According toโ the police complaint, Revenue Officers Sudhir popat Bage and BP Shevre, alongside SDPO Krishna, her bodyguard,โ and other police personnel, were conducting enforcement against illegal mineral excavation in Kurduvadi when Baba Jagtap,โฃ along with Nitin โขMali, Santosh Kapre, and Anna Dhane,โฃ allegedly โฃdisruptedโ the operation and impeded officials’ duties.
The FIR was filed on September โ4 โขat kurduvadi police station.
The controversy ignitedโ after the video surfaced, showing Pawar instructing Krishna to halt โขactionโ against the โคillegal excavation. “Ek min, main tere upar action โlunga โ (I will take action against you). I am myself talking toโข you and you are โฃasking me toโ call you directly. You want to see me. Take myโ number and make aโค WhatsAppโฃ call.How dare you?,” Pawar is heard saying in the recording.the exchange occurred after Jagtap connected Pawar to Krishna during a phone call.Krishna, reportedly unsure she was speakingโค with the Deputyโฃ Chiefโ Minister, requested โdirect โคcontact via her official โคnumber,โ prompting โขPawar’s forcefulโ response.
Opposition โleaders have criticized the incident,โ with NCP (Sharad โPawarโ faction) MP โsupriya Sule โlabeling it an assaultโ on constitutional values and Shiv Sena (UBT) โคleader Sanjayโ Raut accusing Pawar of protecting illicit activities.Pawar โlaterโ issued aโข clarification on X, stating โhe intended to “de-escalate a โtense situation” โand affirming โขhis respect for the police โฃforce and the โrule of law. โคNCPโข leaders within Pawar’s faction have defended โคhis actions, claimingโฃ his remarks were misinterpreted and thatโ he was โattempting to pacify โparty workers present at the scene.
