Vietnam’s Social Insurance Revenue Surges in First Half of 2025
Hฦฐng Yรชn Province, Vietnam – Revenue from social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance in Vietnam reached 7.79 trillion Vietnamese Dong (VND) in the first half of 2025, representing a 20.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This figure accounts for 51.4% of the annual target, according to recent reports from Vietnam Social Insurance.
The Social Insurance Corporation has been actively disbursing benefits to eligible recipients, including social insurance and unemployment insurance beneficiaries.Significant progress has also been made in covering health insurance medical expenses and treatment costs. During the first six months of the year, benefits were paid to 81,159 social insurance recipients and 6,270 individuals receiving unemployment benefits. Over 2.2 million people benefited from health insurance coverage and related medical expense reimbursements.
Looking ahead, the Hฦฐng Yรชn Social Insurance Bureau is prioritizing collaboration with the District Committee, People’s Committee, and relevant sectors to ensure the effective implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies. Efforts will focus on accurate and complete benefit delivery, rigorous management of pension and monthly social insurance recipients, and efficient utilization of screening and treatment funds in partnership with the health sector.
Pham Van Nghiรชm, Vice Chairman of the Hฦฐng Yรชn People’s Committee, acknowledged the dedication of the social insurance sector in coordinating policy implementation. He emphasized the need for a thorough assessment of challenges and limitations, followed by the development of targeted solutions. Future priorities include expanding coverage by actively promoting and encouraging participation in social insurance,health insurance,and unemployment insurance programs,especially among currently uncovered groups. Strengthened collaboration between social and health insurance agencies is also crucial for effective health checkups and treatment services. Nghiรชm called for continued advocacy for support mechanisms for vulnerable populations to ensure the triumphant implementation of social security initiatives within the region.
