In Junior there is only one goal: to be champion. We all know what this club means for us, for the entire region. There is no other option: it only serves to be champion. That is my yearning, I ask God with the heart, because it would be very special to put one more star to this shield. It would be a gigantic joy for me and for all the people who have been by my side.
You were Cup champion (2015), but not league. Was that slope?
Yes, that thorn was left. I played three league finals that escaped us. We left champions in a cup, but I have that very present desire. It is a longing for the heart. I hope that with the favor of God I can fulfill it at this time. I attribute a lot to the times of God: today, after ten years, I return to the club that saw me born, to the club that gave me a name and respect in this country. What difference does Celis have today compared to that of ten years ago? What has improved and what has changed?
Well, many years have passed, there are already 13 or 14 years of career. I just turned 32 and I feel that I still have many years of football ahead. I feel strong, I feel good. I am a more mature player, quieter. The celis before, for youth and desire, committed many recklessness … I remember that a lot. But that was also valued by the fans, because I always left everything on the court. Today I still have that character, that desire to compete, those desire to win, but with more head, with better decisions in the field. I have grown a lot in that aspect, in decision making, and that is what I come to contribute: experience, balance, and desire to help a great squad to achieve the objectives.
