Toyota‘s โขGR โขSupra Supercar Unveiled, Marking Return to Factory Racing for Walkinshaw Andretti United
BATHURST, AUSTRALIA – Toyota has officially revealed โฃits new V8-powered GR Supra Supercar, setโ to compete in the Australian Supercars Championshipโข starting in 2025. The unveiling, held today, signifies Toyota’s return to full factoryโค support โin the series for the first โคtime as its days with the Holden Racing Team. Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) will fieldโ the new Supra.
The introduction of the Supra marks a significant shift for both Toyota and WAU. For Toyota, it represents a renewed commitment โto Supercars,โ leveraging the iconic Supra โฃnameplate. For WAU, it’s a return toโข a full factory partnership, promising increased resources and development. Theโค new Supra will replace the team’s current Ford Mustangs at the end ofโข the 2024 โseason.
WAU has confirmed Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood as drivers for the Supra program. Simultaneously โoccurring, Brad Jones Racing โข(BJR) is finalizing its 2025 driver lineup, with Andre โHeimgartner already secured. Cam Hill is expectedโ to join BJR, and macauley Jones and jaxon Evans are in contention to continueโ with the team.

The Supra will begin track testing soon, with its competitive debut โslated for the start ofโข the 2025 Supercars Championship season. Fans will โget their first in-person look at the car at the upcoming Bathurst event.
