IndiGo has placed a passenger on it’s no-fly list following an incident where teh individual slapped a co-passenger on a Mumbai-Kolkata flight. The airline announced the suspension of the passenger from flying on any IndiGo flights, citing its commitment to discouraging unruly behavior onboard.
The airline emphasized its priority for the safety of its crew and passengers, aiming to maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable surroundings for everyone on board.
The passenger who was slapped has been identified as Hossain Ahmed Mazumdar. A video of the assault, which reportedly occurred without provocation, circulated widely after the incident. The footage showed flight attendants escorting an apparently anxious Mazumdar to his seat when the other passenger slapped him.
In a concerning development, Mazumdar has since been reported missing. According to a times of India report, Mazumdar was expected to arrive in Silchar from Kolkata but never reached his destination. A relative stated that upon discovering he was not on the Silchar flight, they contacted local authorities and visited the Udharband police station near Silchar airport.
Mazumdar’s family members, who were awaiting his arrival at Silchar airport, have appealed to authorities to locate him and release CCTV footage that could assist in tracing his whereabouts.
