Paramount Global Launches Paramount Sports Entertainment, Tapping Jesse Sisgold to Lead New Division
HOLLYWOOD – Paramount Global is making a notable push into sports entertainment with the launch of a new division, Paramount Sports Entertainment. the company announced today that Jesse sisgold, former president and COO of Skydance Media and chairman of Skydance Sports, will lead the new venture.
Paramount Sports Entertainment will focus on producing both scripted and unscripted programming for Paramount’s platforms and for sale to third-party media companies and streaming services. The division will also develop sports-focused interactive games and experiences, working directly with athletes, creators, leagues, and brands.
The new division will also incorporate Skydance Sports, the joint venture with the NFL responsible for projects like prime Video’s Air and Netflix’s America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.
According to Paramount CEO David Ellison, the new division is designed to complement, not replace, CBS Sports, led by David Berson, which concentrates on live sports programming and studio shows. the two divisions are expected to collaborate on future projects.

The move reflects the growing importance of sports-adjacent content in the media landscape, highlighted by recent rights deals like the NFL’s $111 billion agreement and the NBA’s $77 billion deal.Paramount is also looking to capitalize on the potential of sports-related gaming, leveraging Skydance Games to explore opportunities beyond established franchises like Madden and NBA2K.
