(NewsNation) – Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recently underwent surgery for Basal Cell Carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer, and is using his experience to encourage fans to practice sun safety.
Ramsay shared a photo on Instagram saturday revealing bandages on his jaw and neck following the procedure.He thanked the “amazing team” at The Skin Associates for the successful removal of the cancer.
“Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend. I promise you itS not a face lift! I’d need a refund,” Ramsay joked in the post.
Understanding Basal Cell Carcinoma
Basal Cell Carcinoma is a type of skin cancer that frequently enough appears as slightly transparent bumps. It develops in the basal cells, the cells responsible for producing new skin cells, as explained by the Mayo Clinic.
