In the match of the 10th round of the Nike League, the football players of the reigning champion ŠK Slovan Bratislava won over the table leader AS Trenčín 2:0.
Slovan stretched their winning streak to four games and moved into second place in the table, two points behind their Sunday opponent, but played a game less than AS. Trenčín suffered its second league loss of the season, having previously lost to Žilina 2:5 on August 12.
Captain Vladimír Weiss was injured again in the 13th minute, but even this inconvenience did not stop them on their way to three points. In the 22nd minute, “holiday” scorer Lukáš Pauschek opened the scoring, and in the 71st minute, Slovan’s triumph was sealed by Aleksandar Čavrič, who beat Vozinha with a header from Tigran Barsejjan’s cross.
