Privateโ Gas Stations to Source Fuelโ from Pertamina Amid Supply Concerns
Jakarta, Indonesia – Private gasโ station operators in indonesia have agreed to โpurchase fuel from state-owned โenergy company PT Pertamina (Persero) following recent reports of limited stock at several stations, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced today. The move โคcomes after a โmeeting convened by Minister Bahlil Lahadalia with representatives from โshell, BP AKR, Vivo, and ExxonMobil to address the growing scarcity.
The agreement aims to โstabilize fuel supply at private โขstations, which โฃhave recently โฃfaced โchallengesโ in maintaining adequate inventory. Pertamina will supply base fuel, not yet blended โwith additives, allowing โขprivate operators to customize theโ final product according to specifications set by โthe Director General of Oil โคand Gas.
according to Pertamina managing Director Simon Lombongan, the company is not pursuing profit from these sales.”Thay agree and must agree to collaborateโ with Pertamina,” โขLombongan stated, referring to the private gas stations. “The conditions โคmust be a base โfuel base, โnot yet mixedโ in the โคform of tea. If initially pertamina โwants to sellโข like tea.”
Pertamina andโ private gas stations areโ also preparing toโข importโค additional fuel to cover supply needs, with import volumes dependent on โคreports detailing the requirements โขofโค each โคbusiness entity. โคLombonganโ assured theโ public that fuel qualityโค will remain consistent and meet established โstandards, emphasizing Pertamina’s commitment to communityโฃ obligation.
The Ministry of Energy andโ Mineralโ Resources is also reportedly considering a review of the current one-door fuel import โคpolicy, whichโ currently channels imports through Pertamina, followingโ concerns raised by private operators.
