The victim has been identified as B. Sripriya. โHer estranged husband, S.Balamurugan, is in police custody and is accused of fatallyโฃ attacking her โขwith a sickle at a women’sโ hostel near Gandhipuram. According to police reports, Balamurugan uploaded โฃa photo with his wife’s body to his WhatsAppโค status, accompanied by a โขmessage alleging โขinfidelity. โResidents of the hostel alerted authorities after the attack, and Balamurugan was apprehended at the scene.
The couple hadโ separated last year following aโ domestic dispute, with Sripriya moving to Coimbatore from Tirunelveli with their two children, initially residing โwith her โคmother.โ After a disagreement with her mother,Sripriya moved to the women’s hostel while leaving her children โin her mother’s care. Policeโ state Balamurugan reportedly accused Sripriya of having an affair with a relative and confronted her atโข the hostel.
