Jenna Ortega debuted a striking departure from her signature gothic aesthetic at the 2026 Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, opting for a lingerie-inspired look. The actor, nominated for Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for the second season of Tim Burton’s Netflix series Wednesday, appeared on the red carpet in a pearlescent slip dress featuring a shredded lace bodice, a plunging V-neckline, and a distressed hemline with a high-leg slit.
The ensemble, styled by Enrique Melendez, was completed with thigh-high sheer socks in light gray and black pleaser platform sandals. Ortega accessorized with layered necklaces, including long pearl strands and a tied black string. Her makeup, applied by Mélanie Inglessis, leaned into a gothic sensibility with smokey eyes and a deep red lip, while her hair, styled by Dom Forletta, featured loose, side-swept curls.
This look marks a shift for Ortega, who has recently favored darker, more structured silhouettes. Earlier in the 2026 awards season, Melendez and Ortega collaborated with Dilara Findikoglu for a goth-princess gown worn to the Golden Globes. They have also showcased emerging designers, including Torlowei for a green lace-trimmed silk chiffon dress and the Ukrainian brand Bevza for a collar bodysuit and sculptural maxi skirt, both worn at the Marrakech Film Festival.
At the Actor Awards, Ortega was nominated alongside Kathryn Hahn (The Studio), Jean Smart (Hacks), Kristen Wiig (Palm Royale), and the late Catherine O’Hara for her performance in The Studio. Ortega was previously nominated in the same category in 2023 for the first season of Wednesday, where she wore a black asymmetrical Versace gown.
Ortega’s choice of attire follows a reported desire for more comfortable red carpet looks. Earlier this year, People magazine reported that Ortega requested “practical” looks from her stylist after wearing a heavily embellished top to the 2025 Emmys, which weighed between 20 and 30 pounds.
