‘Shogun‘ Adds โFive to season 2 Cast as FX Hit Prepares for Return
FX’s critically acclaimed historical drama Shogun is bolstering its cast for โขaโค second season, adding Hyลซga Kaneta โ(Shoโ Kaneta), โHidenobu Sho (Hidenobu), Takaaki โคEnoki (Lord Ito), and Jun Kunimura โฃ(Gลda) to the ensemble. The announcement comes as theโ series, based โคon Jamesโ Clavell’s novel,โ prepares to continue its saga ten years after the events of its first installment.
The new โadditions join returning stars Hiroyuki โขSanadaโข as Toranaga and โคCosmo Jarvis as Blackthorne, alongside Fumi Nikaidรด (Ochiba), Shinnosuke Abe (Buntaro), Hiroto Kanaiโ (Omi), Yoriko โDรดguchi โ(Kiri), โTommy Bastow (Alvito), Yuko โMiyamoto (Gin), Eitaโฃ Okuno (saeki), and Yuka kouri (Kiku). โข Shogun‘s โfirst season captivated audiences and critics alike in 2024, becoming FX’s most-watched show ever and earning โขa remarkable 18 Emmy nominations.
Season two will be directed by Hiromi โคKamata, โTakeshi Fukunaga, Justin Marks, Anthony โฃByrne (Say Nothing), and Kate Herron โข(Loki). The writing โคteam โคincludes co-creators Rachel Kondo โฃand Justin Marks, as well as Shannon Goss, Matt Lambert, Maegan Houang, Emily Yoshida, Caillin Puente, and Sofie Somoroff.
