Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Claims No Consultation on Shivamogga Event Invitation
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that neither he nor his office was consulted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways before his name was included on an invitation for an event in Shivamogga. The clarification came after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari‘s office provided details of letters sent to the Karnataka Chief Minister regarding the inauguration.
Siddaramaiah took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his position. In a post dated July 14, 2025, he wrote, “Your response on the shivamogga event is noted. However, I wish to place on record that neither I nor my office was consulted before your Ministry finalized the programme and publicly circulated the invitation with my name printed on itโฆ”
The exchange highlights a potential disconnect in communication between the state and central governments regarding official engagements. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, led by Nitin Gadkari, had reportedly sent two letters to the Karnataka Chief Minister, inviting him to participate in the inauguration ceremony in Shivamogga.
This is a developing story.
