The case of former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” stines, charged with the murder of District Judge Kevin Mullins, remains unsettled as he awaits trial. A defense attorney recommended a $50,000 bond, arguing he is not a flight risk or danger to the community, while a prosecutor contends he is not entitled to bond due to the capital nature of the charge [[3]].
